Wayne Rooney's wife, Coleen has given birth to a baby boy at 2.20pm today. The couple have named the boy Kai Wayne Rooney, giving him the same middle name as his father.

A spokesman said: “Mother and baby are both absolutely fine. Wayne and Coleen are thrilled with the wonderful addition to their family life.”

Wayne was absent at training today amid rumours Coleen was finally going to give birth after it was overdue for 9 days. Wazza may now be excused from the Champions League match tomorrow.
