It's been a bit of a crazy start to the year for our Portuguese winger. Talk of him leaving in the January transfer window grew by the day and it looked unlikely he would play in a United shirt again.

Then something struck him into life as he exploded with some unbelievable performances. It started with Hull City but some fans were still skeptical about his consistency. These fans were soon shown they were to quick too write off a player with such potential. 

Our victories against Man City and Arsenal were down to some great individual performances including Rooney, Fletcher and of course Nani. He also put to rest accusations that he can only perform against the smaller teams fighting for relegation.

Not long ago Nani was en route for the Old Trafford exit but now, after his brilliant performance against Hull City, he is supposedly a first team starter! Nani lasted the whole 90 minutes on Saturday, setting up two of Rooney's goals and gave Owen numerous chances to add to his goal scoring tally at Old Trafford.  

He had a chance to score himself in the second half with a beautifully taken free-kick but was helped onto the bar by Boaz Myhill. The resulting scramble in the box led to Rooney's smashing home the second goal.
