VidicWe've all been curious as to the whereabouts of Nemanja Vidic and it's the rumours of him leaving have been everywhere. He hasn't played since December and the phone-in shows were hot with fans questioning where his heart is intent on playing.

Vidic has now had his say and put to bed the rumours linking him to several teams including Madrid and Barca.

Sir Alex Ferguson - Vidic is going nowhere

When the rumours broke about Vidic leaving Old Trafford, I thought I'd heard it far too often. Deja Vu had hit us, with Vidic saying he didn't want to leave but with Ronaldo repeating the same words just a season ago.

However, Sir Alex has insisted that he is going nowhere and that he still wants the Serbian to stay.  United fans will still feel that there is something not right about the situation, especially with Vidic being absent for so long.

Why Rio and Vida injuries may be a blessing in disguise

Vidic and Ferdinand

I know what many of you will think, how can missing two of our best defenders to injury be a good thing. Well, at this particular time it may well be a blessing before the game on Saturday. United will face Blackburn on Saturday in the Premier League and will look to get back to winning ways after last weeks defeat to Liverpool.

Since the start of the season, our defense has looked far from comfortable. Rio has been looking shaky and making mistakes for both club and country. Defensive lapses have cost us dear and if it wasn't for Owen it could have been two points dropped to City. Some have blamed his life outside of football now that he has gone into producing films. Mixing this with complacency about his position at the club and that not many players in the team can challenge him for his postion.

Vida hasn't looked as bad but at the same time hasn't looked like the rock that he has been in past two seasons. Maybe some time out of the team and some fresh faces will do the team and the defensive pair some good. With Evans and Brown looking to step in in, Rio and Vida will be watching on to see how their team mates perform. Perform well and both could push for a first team place putting pressure on both to wake up and start performing like we all know they can.
